Running Out of Time : Poetic Version

Eternity Countdown

Running Out of Time

From earth to ink… a whisper for the soul

There is a quiet ticking beneath creation—
not heard with ears,
but felt in the soul.

A softness…
a pulling…

as though eternity itself
is leaning closer.

Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
— 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)

When a Moment Holds Eternity

We like to believe decisions can wait—
that tomorrow will stretch itself wide enough
to hold what we avoid today.

But scripture narrows that illusion.

Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life…
— Matthew 7:14

Not crowded.
Not accidental.
Not wandered into half-asleep.

Chosen.

What if your soul
is standing at that gate now?

Not in fear—
but in invitation.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…
— Acts 16:31

The Last Days… Then and Now

The last days did not begin with headlines—
they began with Christ.

…hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son.
— Hebrews 1:2

And yet something stirs now
like wind through tall grass before a storm.

Not because God is late—
but because humanity is listening less.

Still, the warning remains gentle… and sure:

The day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
— 1 Thessalonians 5:2

Quiet.
Unexpected.
Certain.

A Nation Born in a Day

Once, it sounded impossible—

Shall a nation be born at once?
— Isaiah 66:8

And yet, it was.

Israel—
scattered like seeds across centuries—
gathered again into its soil.

I will… bring you into your own land.
— Ezekiel 36:24

Prophecy did not rush.
It waited…
and then it bloomed all at once.

Like wildflowers after rain.

As in the Days of Noah

There were no alarms then.

No breaking news.
No countdown clocks.

Just life—
ordinary, full, distracted life.

They were eating and drinking… and knew not until the flood came…
— Matthew 24:38–39

The danger was not only wickedness—
but unawareness.

And today?

We are busy.
Scrolling.
Planning.
Delaying the quiet questions.

All while the horizon gathers clouds.

The Choice That Cannot Be Borrowed

No one can choose for your soul.

Not tradition.
Not proximity.
Not good intentions.

Repent ye therefore, and be converted…
— Acts 3:19

This is not about becoming flawless—
but becoming willing.

A turning.

A soft yes
in the quiet place within you.

Why Time Feels Short

It is not panic—
it is perspective.

One day is with the Lord as a thousand years…
— 2 Peter 3:8

God is not rushing—
but He is calling.

And the door…

will not remain open forever.

And they that were ready went in… and the door was shut.
— Matthew 25:10

A Gentle Ending (or Beginning)

Time is not slipping away to frighten you—
but to awaken you.

Because Heaven is not earned in striving—
it is received in faith.

And the invitation is still here.

Still open.
Still waiting.

Today…

is still called today.

A Whim to Write
On the art of starting again

I have a whim to write so write I will.
Can’t believe I am being this still.

I type and I type to no avail.
I can’t believe it, so I guess I will.

What says the key — can it really be
an a or a y? I really can’t say why.

I have a whim to write, so write I will.
When night time comes, I pick up my quill.

Some say I’m lazy and others say naught.
When I sit here and write, I’m not such a snot.

I love the sound of the keys that clank,
or the pen that strikes as I sit down to write.

Well here we go again, picking up where we left off —
not quite sure what to write, but at least it’s a start.

Good night my protagonist.
It was good to see you again.
I’ll finish your scene without you letting out a scream.

The days are long and the nights too short.
I’ll finish your story sometime in the morning.

With coffee brewed and in the mood,
I’ll pick up where we left off,
and again we will start.
