The Thread of Promise: Old Testament Prophecies and Their Fulfillment

Jesus Christ is born

🌿 The Thread of Promise — Prophecies of the Old Testament and Their Fulfillment

From earth to ink… the promises of God weave through time like golden threads — stretching from the Old Testament's earliest words to the light of fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

✨ The Seed of Hope

Long before Bethlehem’s star rose, the story of redemption was whispered through Scripture.
The Old Testament and the Prophets told of One who would come to restore, redeem, and reign in peace.

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
— Genesis 3:15

Fulfillment: Centuries later, the promise became life — Galatians 4:4–5 and 1 John 3:8 show it in Christ’s victory over sin and death.

🌸 Born of a Virgin

“The Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel.”
— Isaiah 7:14

Fulfillment:Matthew 1:22–23 declares this promise realized — Immanuel, God with us.

🌻 From Bethlehem

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrata, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel.”
— Micah 5:2

Fulfillment:Luke 2:4–7 unfolds the quiet wonder — the ruler born in humble straw, Love wrapped in living light.

🌿 The Suffering Servant

“He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him.”
— Isaiah 53:5

Fulfillment: Calvary gave these words form — John 19:34, 1 Peter 2:24 — mercy poured out through sacrifice.

🌾 The Triumphal Entry

“Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey.”
— Zechariah 9:9

Fulfillment:Matthew 21:4–9 records the moment — palms and praise mark the King’s arrival.

🌺 Betrayed for Thirty Pieces of Silver

“So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.”
— Zechariah 11:12–13

Fulfillment:Matthew 26:15–16 reveals the prophecy in Judas’s hand — an ancient sorrow woven into redemption’s plan.

🌅 Resurrection on the Third Day

“You will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.”
— Psalm 16:10

Fulfillment:Luke 24:6–7 rings with victory — “He is not here; He is risen.”
The music of prophecy becomes the song of life.

🌼 The Thread Continues

From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture sings one melody: Promise. Patience. Fulfillment.
The same voice that spoke light into being whispers grace into every heart.
What was foretold is now fulfilled — and still it blooms anew in us each day.

A Whim to Write
On the art of starting again

I have a whim to write so write I will.
Can’t believe I am being this still.

I type and I type to no avail.
I can’t believe it, so I guess I will.

What says the key — can it really be
an a or a y? I really can’t say why.

I have a whim to write, so write I will.
When night time comes, I pick up my quill.

Some say I’m lazy and others say naught.
When I sit here and write, I’m not such a snot.

I love the sound of the keys that clank,
or the pen that strikes as I sit down to write.

Well here we go again, picking up where we left off —
not quite sure what to write, but at least it’s a start.

Good night my protagonist.
It was good to see you again.
I’ll finish your scene without you letting out a scream.

The days are long and the nights too short.
I’ll finish your story sometime in the morning.

With coffee brewed and in the mood,
I’ll pick up where we left off,
and again we will start.
