✨ “Salt and Light” — What It Says (KJV)

Walk with the Word

From Matthew 5:13–16 (KJV):

  • “Ye are the salt of the earth…”
  • “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid…”
  • “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

🌿 What It Means

Salt

  • Preserves what is good → guarding truth, goodness, and integrity
  • Adds flavor → bringing life, depth, and kindness into ordinary spaces
  • A small amount changes everything → quiet influence matters

Light

  • Reveals truth → helping others see clearly in confusion
  • Guides the way → offering direction through example
  • Cannot be hidden → authentic goodness naturally shines

In simple terms:
You’re meant to make the world better just by being who you are in alignment with God—preserving what is right and illuminating what is true.

🌎 How It Plays Out Today

In today’s world, this looks less like grand gestures and more like everyday presence:

  • Choosing honesty when it’s easier to bend the truth
  • Offering kindness in tense or divided spaces
  • Creating beauty, art, and peace that lifts others
  • Standing steady in values without becoming harsh or self-righteous
  • Being a calm, grounding presence in chaos
  • Letting your life—not just words—be the message

It’s not about being loud.
It’s about being real, steady, and quietly transformative.

A Whim to Write
On the art of starting again

I have a whim to write so write I will.
Can’t believe I am being this still.

I type and I type to no avail.
I can’t believe it, so I guess I will.

What says the key — can it really be
an a or a y? I really can’t say why.

I have a whim to write, so write I will.
When night time comes, I pick up my quill.

Some say I’m lazy and others say naught.
When I sit here and write, I’m not such a snot.

I love the sound of the keys that clank,
or the pen that strikes as I sit down to write.

Well here we go again, picking up where we left off —
not quite sure what to write, but at least it’s a start.

Good night my protagonist.
It was good to see you again.
I’ll finish your scene without you letting out a scream.

The days are long and the nights too short.
I’ll finish your story sometime in the morning.

With coffee brewed and in the mood,
I’ll pick up where we left off,
and again we will start.
